CAR-T cell

We have established a comprehensive CAR T cell platform encompassing drug discovery, preclinical research, and clinical development. In the drug discovery phase, we leverage our deep understanding of tumor biology to select targets and indications, validating efficacy and side effects in in vitro and in vivo models. Subsequently, we rapidly advance candidates into preclinical and clinical studies

Lieping Chen, MD, PhD

Co-founder, Scientific advisor

Dr. Lieping Chen is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, Chair Professor at Yale Cancer Research Center, Professor of Immunobiology, Dermatology, and Internal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, and Director of the Cancer Immunology Program at Yale Cancer Center. Dr. Lieping Chen is recognized as a pioneer in the field of tumor immunotherapy in the world. Since the early 1990s, he has been devoted to the research of co-stimulation and co-inhibition mechanism of immune cells and the treatment of tumor immunotherapy and immune disease. Professor Chen Lieping is the first one in the world who discover the role of PD-L1 and PD-L1/PD-1 pathway in immune escape of tumor microenvironment, and it is the first time to use antibodies to block PD-1/PD-L1 pathway to treat cancer, which opened up a new field of tumor immunotherapy.

Gangxiong Huang, MD

Co-founder, CEO
Professor Gangxiong Huang is the founder and CEO of “Tcelltech Inc.”, Fujian “Hundred Talents Program” innovative talents, professor of Immunotherapy Research Institute of Fujian Medical University, distinguished Professor of Minjiang Scholars, head of Immune Cell Center. Professor Gangxiong Huang is a postdoctoral and research fellow of MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas and certified the American Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Over the years, the main research direction of Professor Gangxiong Huang is tumor immunotherapy and tumor metastasis mechanism.

B7-H3

B7-H3 molecule was discovered by Dr. Lieping Chen as an immunomodulatory molecule. Subsequent research has revealed that B7-H3 is highly expressed in a broad range of solid tumors but shows limited expression in normal tissues. Furthermore, B7-H3 is expressed in both tumor cells and tumor-associated endothelial cells. Targeting B7-H3 therefore offers the potential to eradicate both tumor cells and their supporting vasculature, potentially overcoming tumor antigen heterogeneity. Various B7-H3-targeting modalities, such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), radioimmunoconjugates (RDCs), and bispecific antibodies, are currently undergoing clinical investigation. Our research on B7-H3-directed CAR-T cell therapy began in 2015, leading to the development of TX103, our B7-H3-targeted CAR-T cell program currently in Phase 1 clinical trials. Clinical data demonstrate that targeting B7-H3 with TX103 exhibits a favorable safety profile, promising efficacy, and minimal antigen loss following treatment.

Tcelltech’s Pipeline

Our pipeline focuses on developing cutting-edge CAR-T cell therapies for solid tumors. To overcome the challenges inherent in treating solid tumors with CAR-T cells, we are leveraging novel targets to enhance CAR-T cell persistence, to increase resistance to the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, and to promote CAR-T cell infiltration. These strategies hold immense promise for improving the efficacy and safety of CAR-T cell therapy in solid tumors, ultimately delivering more durable and effective treatment options for patients.

The Beginning

Founded in 2017, Tcelltech is a clinical-stage cell therapy company. Committed to a deep understanding of cancer immunology, we drive innovation and breakthroughs in cell therapy. Our research and development philosophy is grounded in scientific rigor, combining cutting-edge gene editing and monoclonal antibody technologies to modify immune cells such as T cells and NK cells.

He completed his postdoctoral training and subsequently served as a researcher at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also served as a pathologist and Minjiang Scholar Professor at Fujian Medical University previously.

Lieping Chen, MD, PhD

Co-founder, Scientific advisor

Dr. Chen is a pioneer in cancer immunotherapy. His research focuses on fundamental T-cell biology and the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical therapies, with a primary emphasis on cancer immunotherapy. He discovered PD-L1 and established its role in tumor immune evasion, laying the foundation for anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapies that have transformed cancer treatment worldwide. Among his other numerous discoveries, B7-H3 has emerged as a promising universal therapeutic target for solid tumors.

Dr. Chen is United Technologies Corporation Professor in Cancer Research and Professor of Immunobiology, of Dermatology and of Medicine at Yale University. He held faculty positions at the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins University, and scientist positions in the Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. before joining Yale University. Dr. Chen is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Association for Cancer Research.
